Disclaimer

What can go wrong when you trade with Meanward scripts, in plain words. The full text is the Risk Disclaimer.

On this page

Trading can lose you some or all of the money you put in, and with leverage more than that. Meanward is software. It doesn't know you, it doesn't predict the market and it promises nothing. Every trade it signals or places is your decision, made in advance through the settings you chose.

The binding text is the Risk Disclaimer. This page is the short version for people reading the docs.

Not advice

Nothing in these docs, the scripts, presets, emails or the members' group is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell anything. I sell this software as an individual; I'm not a licensed investment firm. When I write about how I trade my own account, that's a fact about me, not a suggestion for you.

What's specific to this strategy

  • Stuck positions. It bets that a stretched price comes back toward the mean. Sometimes it doesn't. A position can sit in drawdown for a long time and may never recover.
  • Averaging adds exposure. The strategy adds to a losing position, and with the default sizing each add is bigger than the last. Size the account for the full cascade, not the first order.
  • The win rate isn't the point. Many small wins and a few deep losses is the shape of this strategy. A long green streak says nothing about the next red trade.
  • Stops are optional and off by default. With them off, the only limits are your position size, your leverage and your margin.
  • Advanced modes change the risk. Hedging, line exits, opposite-signal exits and auto add size behave differently from the defaults. Backtest any of them before you trade it.

Backtests

A backtest is a simulation on past data with the TradingView tester's assumptions. It isn't a record of real trades, it leaves out funding, and settings that look great on one pair and period are often fitted to that pair and period. Expect worse live. How I test: Backtest methodology.

Automation

TradingView can deliver an alert late, twice or not at all, and an alert stops when it expires. The exchange can reject an order or fill it worse. The connector can be down, delayed or wrong. Automation runs while you sleep, and so do losses: check the account every day and know how to revoke your API key.

Your responsibility

  • Only trade money you can afford to lose entirely.
  • Choose your own risk budget, pairs and settings. Presets are starting points, not recommendations.
  • Check that trading leveraged crypto derivatives is legal where you live and on the exchange you use.
  • If you don't understand mean reversion, averaging, leverage and margin, don't trade this until you do.
