Thirty minutes is the honest number if you already have a TradingView account and, for automation, an exchange account with futures enabled. The one thing you can't speed up is step 2: access is granted by hand.

What you need before you start:

  • a TradingView account. The chart and the backtest work on any plan. Webhook alerts for the connector need Essential or higher with two-factor authentication on, and one alert runs one symbol: 20 on Essential, 100 on Plus, 400 on Premium;
  • the exact spelling of your TradingView username (the name after @ in your profile);
  • for automation on your own keys: a futures account on Binance, Bybit or Hyperliquid;
  • a pair you've already backtested. If you haven't, do that first: strategy tester on your pair and timeframe, and look at the drawdown.

1. Request access (2 min)

The scripts aren't sold yet: they go on sale in the TradingView Marketplace once they're listed there. Until then:

  1. Message me on Telegram, @svfedorof.
  2. Send your TradingView username exactly as it's spelled in your profile (the name after @). Case and spelling matter: access goes to exactly that name.

2. Wait for access

I grant access by hand on TradingView. You get a TradingView notification and both scripts appear under Indicators → Invite-only scripts. No notification yet? Write to me on Telegram or to [email protected] with your TradingView username.

3. Put the strategy on the chart (3 min)

  1. Open the pair and timeframe you backtested. The strategy is built for perpetual futures; I run it on 3m and 5m Binance perpetuals.
  2. Indicators → Invite-only scripts → Meanward Revert Strategy. The strategy tester opens at the bottom.
  3. In the strategy's Properties tab, check margin for long and short: 10% (the script sets it; it equals 10x on the exchange). Initial capital and commission: set what you actually have and actually pay. The script defaults are 10,000 USDT and 0.04% per order.
  4. Read the dashboard in the top-right corner once: trades, the result per side, and the row Max drawdown (equity). That drawdown, in USDT, is the number to size your account against. The net number isn't.

4. Set the risk inputs (5 min)

The risk inputs are plain fields in the settings dialog: order size, adds, multipliers, the TP. There's no profile switch, so what you see is what trades. Three ready sets of values:

PresetVolume (USDT)Max addsAdd multipliersFull cascade, USDT
Conservative25024 / 3 / 24,250
Balanced50024 / 3 / 28,500
Aggressive75034 / 3 / 230,750

Balanced is the code defaults, the values that trade my own account: leave the inputs as they are and that's what you get. Conservative is the same with half the order size. Aggressive adds a third add and loosens two filters. The full list of 24 values to type in, for the long and the short bot, is in Risk presets.

Two things to set whatever the preset:

  • Start time (📅 Bot start): set it to today. Otherwise the strategy may be mid-trade on the chart when you go live, and its first alert is an add or a close for a position your exchange doesn't have.
  • Account size: one trade can hold the whole cascade of the preset on one symbol, which is 425 / 850 / 3,075 USDT of margin at 10x for Conservative / Balanced / Aggressive. Size the account for the full cascade on every symbol you run and for the dashboard drawdown. The first order is the wrong number to size for.

Changed a setting? Fine, but read step 5 first: alerts don't follow settings changes.

5. Create one alert (3 min)

One alert covers everything: entries, adds, TP updates, closes. The strategy sends them as alert() calls with a JSON body.

  1. Right-click the chart → Add alert.
  2. Condition: Meanward Revert Strategy → Any alert() function call.
  3. Expiration: on Premium and higher an alert doesn't expire. On Essential and Plus the limit is 2 months: set the furthest date and put a reminder in your calendar for that day. An expired alert is the most common reason "the bot stopped".
  4. Notifications: tick Webhook URL and paste your URL (step 6). Tick the app notification too, so you see every alert on your phone.
  5. Message: leave it as is. The strategy fills the body itself.
  6. Name it so you recognise it later, for example Revert BTCUSDT 5m.

An alert is a snapshot of the settings at the moment you created it. Change any input on the chart and you have to delete the alert and create it again, or the old rules keep trading. More in TradingView alert.

Want to see what the alert sends? Turn on Show JSON labels in 🎨 Display: every command appears on the chart as a label with the exact body. Turn it off when you're done.

One alert per symbol: for a dozen symbols, Meanward TV Alerts copies this alert onto every symbol of a watchlist, within your TradingView plan.

6. Choose who executes the orders

Option A: the connector, on your own keys

Everything happens in the cabinet at app.meanward.com; the onboarding there has six steps:

  1. Subscription: sign in with your email (a 6-digit code, no password), pick Platform or Platform Expert in Billing and press Buy. The Whop checkout opens in a new tab; pay with the same email you signed in with, or the cabinet won't see your subscription. The first payment is refundable within 7 days: Refund Policy.
  2. Club: your personal invite to Meanward Club, the closed Telegram group that comes with every plan. Skip it if you like.
  3. Exchange account: create an API key with futures trading and reading on, withdrawals and transfers off, no IP restriction, name the account and paste the key into the form. The cabinet checks the key before it saves it. Details per exchange: Exchange keys.
  4. Webhook URL: the account's own URL. Copy it and paste it into the alert from step 5.
  5. Telegram: link a chat so every order and close reaches you. See Telegram bot.
  6. Check: press Send test signal. The connector runs a test close through the same path an alert takes, checks the key on the exchange and messages Telegram, without placing an order. The result shows up right there.

Use a sub-account if your exchange has them. On Binance and Bybit the connector switches the account to hedge mode, and that touches every position on it. Close any open positions there before you start.

Know your plan before the first trade. The connector sends every order at the size the alert says; hedging runs on Platform Expert only. The details are in What the connector does.

Your off switch is the API key: revoke it on the exchange and nothing can trade, whatever state the connector is in.

Option B: 3Commas or WunderTrading

Not ready yet. The strategy's alert format is its own, so these need a translation layer that doesn't exist yet. Don't paste the strategy alert into a 3Commas bot and expect it to work: it won't. A guide comes when it's tested.

7. Check the first signal

Day 0, before the first signal:

  • the alert is in your Alerts list, active, with the webhook ticked;
  • the chart shows the strategy with the dashboard and no open position (start time = today);
  • connector users: the cabinet shows the exchange as verified and Telegram as linked.

When the first signal fires:

  1. TradingView shows the alert in the alerts log and your phone gets the push.
  2. Connector users: within seconds a Telegram message shows the order and the exchange's answer. Open the exchange and check the position and the TP order. If the message says skipped or rejected, read the reason; the list of statuses is in Execution statuses.
  3. Compare: the strategy's label on the chart (side and size) matches what the exchange shows.

No signal for a day or two is normal on some pairs. No signal for a week on a 3m or 5m chart means something's off: check that the alert is still active and that the start time isn't in the future.

8. Day 7 check-in

Ten minutes, seven days in:

  • Alert still active? Check the expiration date, and that no setting changed since you created it.
  • Trades on the chart = trades on the exchange? Count them. A mismatch means a skipped or refused command; find it in Telegram or in the cabinet under Trades.
  • Drawdown so far vs the dashboard drawdown. If you're already near the backtest maximum, the account is undersized for this pair. Reduce the order size or change pairs; adding margin isn't the fix.
  • Did you touch anything mid-trade? Manual closes and manual adds confuse both the strategy and the connector. If you must step in, close the position on the exchange, then delete and recreate the alert with a new start time.

Post your numbers in the Club if you want a second pair of eyes. That's what it's for.

Bottom line

Request access with the right username, wait for it, add the strategy, set the risk inputs and the start time (today), create one alert with the webhook, connect the exchange, check the first signal, check again on day 7.
